Google Map Location is now Compulsory for GST Registration


The Goods & Services Tax (GST) Department has made an amendment in the GST Registration process. From Now onward the department has made it compulsory to enter the exact Google Maps location of Business premises  while doing new GST Registration or while adding a new place in existing GST Number or making changes in Principle place or Additional Place of Business.

How to apply Letter of undertaking (LUT) on GST Portal

LUT - Letter of Undertaking is a GST RFD-11 form that every taxpayer who exports Goods or Services needs to furnish in order to make exports without payment of Tax. 

 Steps to Apply LUT on your GST Portal 

Below are the steps to be followed on GST Portal to furnish LUT:

Step 1: Login to GST Portal with your Unique USER ID & Password

Step 2 : Go to “Services” Tab & then “User Services” and then Select “Furnish Letter of Undertaking (LUT)”

Step 3 :  Now Select the financial year for which you want to Apply the LUT and Fill Up the necessary details on the Letter of Undertaking Form/ GST RFD-11 that appears on your screen Eg: Self Declaration & Witness information Name, Occupation and witness address. 

Step 4: After filling up the above form now fill up Place of Filling and Click on the “Save” button to save the form and to check the form you can  “Preview” before submitting the LUT Form. 

Step 5: Sign and File the Form Using either EVC option or DSC option. 

Step 6: After submitting the form, the system will generate a unique ARN No along with Acknowledgement, which will appear on your screen and you can also download it by Clicking the “Download” Button.

You can also view previous year furnished LUT on GST Portal. For that checking already Submitted LUTs. Just Go to “Services'' Tab & then “User Services” and then “View my Submitted LUTs” and then select Application type as “Letter of Undertaking” and select the period for which you want to View the LUT and at last “Click on Search” to get details.

What is an Annual Information Statement (AIS)? 


Annual Information Statement (AIS) is a comprehensive statement that contains information related to the various source of income earned by taxpayers in relevant financial years like salary, dividend, interest from saving account, recurring deposits, fixed deposits, sale and purchase of equity shares, bonds, mutual funds, etc and it also contains info about TDS, TCS, and any tax 
demand or refund. 

How to download AIS from the Income-tax portal 


You can easily download your AIS from the e-filing portal by just following the below-given steps. 

Step 1 - 
Login into your account on the e-filing portal at www.incometax.gov.in 

Step 2 - 
Under the “Services” tab, select Annual Information Statement (AIS). After Selecting a pop-up will appear on your screen. Now Click on the “Proceed” button and another website will be open on your browser. 

Step 3 - 
Select “AIS” and then choose Annual Information Statement (AIS) out of two options that appear on your screen. 

Step 4 -
Click on the “Download” button right to the Annual Information Statement box and after clicking a pop-up will appear asking you to select the format for downloading AIS. Now you can choose either to download AIS in PDF Format or in JSON utility format and your AIS will be downloaded accordingly.


The Password for Opening AIS PDF file is a combination of your PAN and Date of birth. For instance, if your PAN is AAAAA0000A and your date of birth is 01, January 1990 the password will be AAAAA0000A01011990. 


If the taxpayer feels that information disclosed in AIS is incorrect and a facility has been provided by the Income-tax Department to submit feedback online for making corrections in Information disclosed.
